One parishioner writes concerning the Adoration Chapel, “We agree that additional meeting space is needed, but wonder if any studies were conducted for lower cost options such as extending existing facilities…”
The Pastor’s Answer: The additional space is required. Classroom availability in Anderson Hall presents the difficulty of sound bleed even though the partitions are high quality. Events offering music or a loud PA in the Guadalupe room are easily heard both in the Lourdes room and to a lesser degree in the Fatima room when all partition walls are assembled. This won’t be a problem where classroom space has fixed walls in the new building. Adding onto the present structure (extending existing facilities) would create an exorbitant cost. To do so is possible but we would have to bring most of the campus up to code and include such things as fire sprinkler systems. Our property, as it now stands, is grandfathered into previous City codes.
