Altar servers are some of our most visible ministers at Mass. Through your dedication and assistance on the Altar, our Liturgies flow smoothly and seamlessly, allowing the Priest and Deacon to focus on their tasks.
Open to ages 10 through adult to those who have received their First Holy Communion and are in good standing with the Catholic Church.
There are many areas to serve within the Altar Society. These areas include:
- Art and Environment – assisting in the design and development of our worship environment,
- Altar Linens – helping to care for the linens used at the Masses, and
- Altar Guild – helping to straighten the church books, basic cleaning and weekly care of plants and furnishings.
In 1973 a great honor was bestowed upon laity – the ability to serve at Mass as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. These ministers assist the Priest and Deacon by distributing the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ to the community at Mass.
Open to those ages 16 and up who have received the Sacraments of Initiation and are in good standing with the Catholic Church.
God speaks to His people through the proclaimed Word. Reading the Scriptures is a service of love. Lectors proclaim one of the two readings at weekend Masses in either Church or Anderson Hall.
Open to those who have received the Sacraments of Initiation and are in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Ministers of Hospitality
In their welcome and Christ-like attitude, Ministers of Hospitality ensure that the faithful see and experience the love of Christ. They assist with seating, taking up the collection and being a face of welcome to the community.
This ministry is open to men and women of all ages.
The Sacristan is an important part of a successful Liturgy team. The Sacristan prepares the Sacred Vessels and the Altar before the Mass.
