Day 2: our visit to the Legion of Mary

As many of you know, the Legion of Mary is an international Association made up of members of the Catholic Church seeking to fulfil their baptismal promises to the church in an organised structure supported by fraternity and prayer. We have one such group at Holy Cross that follows the spiritual charisma Frank Duff— the founder of the Legion of Mary. When they gather together each week in prayer make an altar in which to pray offer prayers of the rosary and plan their apostolic work, usually in favour of the poor the way is set up is predetermined by the statute of the Legion of Mary.

I submit to you this photograph of how the original altar looked using the original pieces of the legion of Mary that Frank Duff. Our members who belong to Legion of Mary and Holy Cross set up an altar in the same way and give testimony to the fidelity of following the Movement’s charism. The image here is of the original altar Fr. Duff used in the first meetings. and I proudly share it with the members of the Legion within our Parish.
