Religious Education

2020-2021 Religious Education Registration Information.

There are General Formation classes for grades K-12th for students that are either too young to be in Sacrament preparation or have already celebrated the sacraments of First Reconciliation, Confirmation & First Holy Communion.

Sacrament preparation classes begin in 2nd grade (or older) with First Reconciliation and then continues the next year with Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

COVID-19 Modifications:

All Sacrament Preparation classes will begin September 15/16 through the on-line platform, Zoom. When it is safe to return to in-person classes, we will do so. All other classes will not meet until in-person classes are allowed. For this reason, we will only be taking registration fees for Sacramental Preparation classes. You are encouraged to register now for General Formation classes, so that you will receive updated information when classes will begin. It is our hope to periodically provide you with optional activities you can participate in as a family. There will be no fees this year for General Formation classes.

General Formation Programs

Kindergarten/First Grade General Formation

We encourage parents to enroll their children in religious education as early as Kindergarten. Our youngest children are enrolled in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and attend sessions in an Atrium. For more information on this method of catechesis please go to www.cgsusa.org.

Fourth/Fifth Grade General Formation

As parents, we tend to see the reception of Confirmation and First Communion as a “graduation” from religious education. Help your children to grow deeper in their relationship with God and His church by enrolling them in General Formation classes.

Youth Ministry Programs

The mission of youth ministry is to lead teens into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
