When Does Advent Begin?

Advent officially begins four Sundays before Christmas

It marks the beginning of the Catholic Church’s liturgical calendar year. This year Advent begins on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Christmas Eve is the Fourth Sunday of Advent, with Christmas falling on a Monday. Four weeks isn’t long, but that still leaves plenty of time to spend some quiet time preparing for Jesus’ coming.

Healing Mass

December 9, after 8:30 a.m. Mass

The Sacrament of the Sick is offered during the Mass to those present that day who are in need of healing. We also remember in our prayers those who are sick but cannot attend the Mass. If you are scheduled for surgery or hospitalization, we encourage you to attend this Mass to receive the Sacrament before being admitted to the hospital.
